Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Suame Hon. Maxwell Ofosu Boakye has humbly appealed to the wife of the late deputy Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for Ejisu constituency Mrs. Lillian Kumah to respectfully shut up in sober mourning of her late husband.
Speaking on Sompa FM’s Ade Akyea Abiaa show in Kumasi on Tuesday, the distraught MCE for Suame advised that for the sake of tradition and respect for the family, Mrs. Lillian Kumah must learn to keep mute no matter the provocation and information she knows about the death of her late husband.
According to Hon. Michael Fosu Boakye, traditions of the Ashanti culture and many other tribes in the country demands total silence from every member of the family at this moment rather than running commentaries or granting interviews by divulging some innate information which ought to be guided.
Mrs. Lillian Kumah made headlines in both the traditional and social media platforms when she went ballistic on beleaguered Prophet Nigel Gaisie over the latters’ prophecy on her husband during last December 31st Watch Night videos, claiming the prophet was very close to the late husband and he was briefed of the husband’s medical situations.
As if that was enough, Mrs. Lillian Kumah claimed that her husband did not die from the widespread food poisoning allegation but rather a supposed terminal medical condition. Her latest episode was an interview she granted the Multimedia group with threats that her children will never serve Ghana if the Police Service fail to investigate the numerous speculations about her husband’s death.
But gnawing on the development, Hon. Ofosu Boakye said the timing of the interviews were fast taking a still shadow of the late husband passing which was indeed unacceptable in the Akan traditional parlance.
