The Electoral Commission (EC) has reversed its directive to bar political party agents from observing the vote transfer exercise.

Initially, the EC had restricted access due to violent clashes at some centers, sparking criticism from political parties and civil society organizations.

Critics especially the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) argued that this move could lead to election irregularities and undermine the democratic process.

John Dramani Mahama, the NDC's flagbearer, accused the EC of attempting to collude with the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rig the December 7 general elections.
