Parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Assin Central Constituency in the Central Region, Nurein Shaibu Migyimah, affectionately referred to as "David Ba" has vouched never to allow the intimidations his party suffered in the 2020 election to resurface unattended to in this year's general election under his watch.
The resolute politician following his defeat to Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, the then incumbent Member of Parliament who retained the seat the fourth time running for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), remarked his disappointment in the media over its failure to carry out not even a single publication over what transpired and neccessited his defeat.
The Assin Central NDC PC asserted that several incidents like gunshots, snatching of ballot boxes and many other forms of intimidations, contributed to his lost in the 2020 general election to the NPP and Hon. Kennedy Agyapong.
He indicated that the NDC's reluctance towards all these intimidations by the NPP doesn't imply its members in the constituency to be weak, but because they always want peace to reign in the area. Hence, the reason they often play adamant to all these acts.
According to him, he described Assin Central to be a peaceful place which occasionally turns to experience perpetrated disruptions by the NPP whenever there seize to be a general election at the constituency.
Nurein Shaibu Migyimah, therefore, threw a firm caution to whoever that has planned to constitute any form of mayhem or intimidation at Assin Central in other to wreck this year's election to discard such mindset, because any such person will never take things lightly this time around.
He then pleaded on the Electoral Commission, the Ghana Police Service, chiefs, and the entire constituents of Assin Central to see to it that peace and fairness prevail in this year's election at the area.
On the recent cursing incident by some Assin Central NDC members on the issue of dubious transference of voters to the constituency, the parliamentary candidate refuted the claim to say that those NDC members perceived to have invoked curses, were only praying to the God they believe in to intervene in the situation for transparency to reign in the ongoing EC voter transfer.
