The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC Augustus Andrews Nana Akwasi has laughed off the supposed tour of the NPP Flagbearer of the NPP Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia saying it is meaningless unless he espouses his contribution to the ailing economy as the ‘economic messiah’ he made Ghanaians to believe prior to their victory in 2016.

Speaking to SOMPA NEWS, Augustus Andrews Nana Akwasi said the NPP under Nana Addo-Bawumia would go down as the worst leaders since independence largely due to their poor management of the economy.

But Nana Akwasi insisted that the silence of the Vice President over the economy he has mismanaged in the past seven and half years during his tour to the region was deafening to the extent it could not be swept under the carpet. 

He posited, “I am expecting the Vice President to speak on the economy he claimed One dollar to three cedis eighty pesewas was to their current Forex of One dollar to about 16 cedis. The Vice President’s plethora of promises to Ghanaians should not make us gloss over his past an economist.”

Speaking on the multitude of supporters who thronged the Kumasi Jubilee Park, the NDC Regional Chairman urged the public not to be dazed by the crowd.

He claimed the people were all bussed to the venues the Vice President visited and should not be used as a yardstick to conclude he was giving a rousing welcome.

He assured that the NDC in the region were resolute and would be focused in working to ensure the former President and NDC flagbearer Mr. John Dramani Mahama wins the general elections to come back and reset the country from its current state of total despondencies.
