Director and Dean of Academic Affairs for the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) at the University of Ghana (Legon), Dr. Vladimir Antwi Danso has urged youths in the country not to allow themselves to be use by politicians in creating violence in the upcoming general election slated for December 7 this year.
Dr. Antwi Danso noted that looking at how unemployment is growing at a high rate in the country, with the youths struggling to get a job to feed themselves and their family, creates a huge concern and vacuum for the youths to be misled by politicians. Hence, the advise.
According to him, instead of leadership in the country creating jobs for the youths, they will in turn do otherwise till election time to use the youths in propagating duty works, while their families sit comfortably at home.
He relayed this at the 20th anniversary of the Child Research and Resource Center, celebrated on the theme: "Ghana Youths Bulge - An Opportunity and Challenge for Nation Building."
The GAF Director and Dean of Academic Affairs further added that politicians often influence the youths with money to do that which is uncalled for, as any youth who will be deceived to carryout such act, does so at his own risk.
Executive Director of Child Research and Resource Center, Dr. Susan Sabaa added that the time is now for all stakeholders and agencies to come onboard and help nurture youths to have a great future.
She highlighted the need for youths to be guided to grow and become the youths needed to be, thus, early days for them to be neglected to go astray.
