The Incumbent Member of Parliament  for Agona West District in the Central Region, Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison has finally declared her intention to defect the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to contest the 2024 general election as an Independent Candidate.

As part of her formulization tour in the constituency, she has reintroduced herself to chiefs of Agona West District to contest this year's polls as an Independent Candidate in other to continue her good works in the district.

The Agona West MP in an interview, refuted to claims that she has done nothing in the district to emphasize that those saying that are even those she personally provided jobs, but because they have crossed carpet to the camp of her rival, have devised such strategy to defame her.

She added that politics is not about insults but about what one can do to draw development to his area and how helpful such individual can be in securing jobs for youth in the district, which she asserted to have done even more than expected.

According to her, she remarked that judging from how people turned out to embrace her, clearly foretells that victory awaits her in the 2024 general election slated for December 7.

Nana Kofi Yeboah VIII, chief of Agona Bobikuma Lower on his address, charged politicians to be decorum with their words in their campaign, since whatever they say or do will turn to have an implication on their personality. Deducing from the fact that the country is on a call for a peaceful December 7 election.

Queen Mother of Agona Bobikuma Lower, Nanahemaa Abena Amoakoa II, advised supporters of Hon. Cynthia Morrison to put in tireless effort to have her win the forthcoming election, since they (the chiefs) believes in her ability and capacities to excel when elected.

She urged supporters not to follow the MP solely on monetary grounds, but should work hard for her clinched on to victory to be able to facilitate great change in their lives.
