The National Democratic Congress (NDC)'s Parliamentary Candidate for the 2024 general elections, Millicent Yeboah Amankwaa has defeated the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations.

The incumbent Member of Parliament for Sunyani West constituency of the Bono region, Hon Ignatius Baffour Awuah lost with 19,715 votes representing 41.92% whilst Millicent Yeboah Amankwaa garnered 26,828 representing 57.04%
Millicent Yeboah Amankwaa contested the incumbent MP in 2020 but lost.
The MP ran for Member of Parliament for the Sunyani West constituency and won in the 2008 parliamentary elections. His party, the NPP however lost the presidential election. Hon Baffour Awuah has since been the MP of the people winning the 2012,
The youngest female MP Elect in her acceptance speech at Odomase expressed appreciation to the people of Sunyani West for the overwhelming endorsement.
"I really appreciate, I’m speechless, humbled and grateful for the great opportunity."
She promised to deliver on the mandate given her.
"To whom much is given much is expected, I will serve with the strength of the Almighty God to deliver with your continue support."
