The chiefs of Nsoatre in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono Region have called on the Member of Parliament-elect in the area to remain selfless and tackle the development needs of the constituents.
They told Madam Millicent Amankwaah Yeboah, the MP-elect that she served as the MP for a longer period, only if she prioritized development.
Nana Obeng Kokodurofour Obeng, the Krontrihene (sub-chief) of the Nsoatre Traditional Area made the call when the MP-elect visited the town to express her appreciation to the electorates and the people for her support during the parliamentary elections.
"You must ensure that the development needs of the Nsoatre people are served", he stated, and asked her to facilitate the proposed establishment of a satellite campus of the University of Energy and Natural Resources in the area.
Nana Obeng said the chiefs and people of the town had already set aside acres of land for the university establishment as promised by the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
He said the people were unhappy that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government failed to set up the university's satellite campus, and also asked the MP-elect to endeavour to reshape the deplorable condition of the Nsoatre town roads.
Mad Yeboah thanked the people for supporting her bid to become an MP and pledged to fulfill her campaign promises to alleviate the plight of the constituents.
