The majority leader, Mahama Ayariga has revealed that, the military men who invaded the private residence of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta on Tuesday afternoon are remorseful.
The incident occurred in Cantonments when Kenneth Ofori-Atta was reportedly out of the country for medical care.
In a statement made on the floor of the House after the incident had been investigated, the majority Leader narrated the ordeal that transpired.
According to him, after engaging relevant stakeholders they confirmed that, Mr. Richard Jakpa led the men for the operations into the former minister House.
He added that the office of National Security Coordinator has assured Ghanaians that it will not repeat itself again.
"Mr. Speaker, I made this statement on the basis of the commitment of President, John Dramani Mahama to reset this country and everybody must be complied with the law and the mandate of the institutions". he said
The Minority leader Alexander Afenyo Markin disclosed that he has had an extensive engagement with the former finance minister who is traumatized by the labeling of the adjective described to his person.
He added that Mr. Ofori Atta is undergoing some medical procedure, which he duly informed the appropriate authorities, hence Mr. Markin gave an assurance of his availability so that if there is anything that has to be investigated, he will make himself available.
