Breakthrough In Atwima Mponua : DCE Hon.Ibrahim Issahak Secures 6 New Telecom Masts To End Years Of Poor Network Conndctivity

The age-old challenge of poor, low or non-existent network connectivity in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region is finally coming to an end.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Mponua, Hon. Ibrahim Issahak, has announced a major breakthrough in the district's sustained efforts to improve network coverage and digital connectivity.

In a statement, Hon. Issahak disclosed that after months of persistent lobbying, engagements and follow-ups with the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, the National Communications Authority (NCA), and the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), the district has successfully secured six (6) new telecom masts.

According to the DCE, two masts were earlier secured at Manukrom along the Bibiani Road and Okyerekrom around the Debra Camp area. In addition to that, four more masts have now been allocated to the following enclaves, Kotokuom Enclave ,Adobewura Enclave,Saakrom Area
and Wansamire Area

Hon. Ibrahim Issahak indicated that installation works for all the masts are expected to commence within this month.

He explained that the project is being executed by the National Communications Authority (NCA) in collaboration with MTN Ghana, as part of government's Rural Telephony Project aimed at extending and improving network coverage in underserved and unserved communities across the country.

The DCE emphasized that improved network connectivity will bring enormous benefits to the people of Atwima Mponua, particularly farmers who need weather information and market prices, students who rely on internet for research, businesses and mobile money vendors, as well as health facilities for emergency communications.

"For many years, our people have struggled to make phone calls, access internet, and do mobile money transactions due to poor network. This development represents a giant step towards improving communication and digital connectivity. Better connectivity means better access to communication, information, services and opportunities," he stressed.

Hon. Ibrahim Issahak also expressed his profound gratitude to the Ministry of Communications, the NCA, GIFEC, MTN Ghana and all stakeholders whose support and commitment have contributed to the achievement.

He assured residents that the Atwima Mponua District Assembly under his leadership will continue to engage relevant institutions and pursue practical interventions that improve the quality of life and open up opportunities for the people.
