Mr Jesse P Kazapoe, the Head of the Basin-White Volta of the Water Resources Commission (WRC) says the nation has enough ground water resource.
He emphasised that the nation's ground water resources were adequately reserved with high quality.
Mr Kazapoe gave the assurance in an interview with Sompa FM's correspondent Stella Kyere who was among some 30 selected journalist who participated in the just ended media training held at Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.
He cautioned unscrupulous human activities and environmental destruction that could potentially contaminate the underground water resources.
Mr Kazapoe noted that conventional water treatment was capital expensive and encourage communities, especially those in the Northern part of the country who had water challenges to harvest and use rain water.
He also said the government was building a new treatment plant at Yapei that would extend clean water to parts of Tamale and other communities in the Northern Region.
