Big Push: Asphaltic work commences on 34-kilometer Sunyani Outer Ring Road project

Asphaltic work on the construction of the Sunyani Outer Ring Road project, under the government's 'Big Push' Road infrastructure initiative has commenced. progressing steadily on portions of the road project.

‎During a round visit, Sompa FM noticed that leveling of chippings had begun from the Fiapre Roundabout stretch of the 34-kilometer-dual-carriage asphaltic road.

‎President John Dramani Mahama performed the ground breaking ceremony for the 34-km Sunyani Outer Ring Road project on December 21, 2025, under the "Big Push" to boost economic growth, reduce congestion, and improve connectivity in the regional capital.

‎In an interview, Mr Kofi Kamkam, the Site Engineer of the Kofi Job Company Limited, executing the project, assured of quality works, promising to ensure that the project was completed even before the two years stipulated period.

‎He said when the leveling of the chippings would pave the way for combusting before the actual asphaltic works commenced.

‎Mr Kamkam lauded the cooperation of all stakeholders so far, especially residents around including traditional authorities, and implored drivers and residents to stay off the project.

‎The road project linked communities like Fiapre, Nanketewa, Old Abesim as well as Old Odomase and New Odomase, connecting to the main Sunyani-Berekum and Sunyani-Abesim highways.
