Souls Humiliated by Slave Trade Can't Be Quantified- Gã Mantse at Oguaa Fetu Afahye

The Gã Mantse, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has stated that the souls humiliated and devastated by the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade cannot be quantified with any amount of money.

He said this at the grand durbar of the 62nd Oguaa Fetu Afahye celebration held under the theme "Heritage, Resilience and Prosperity."

According to the Gã Mantse, as the reparation discussion has been set in motion, it is important for the world to acknowledge that the pain, humiliation and souls lost during the slave trade era goes beyond monetary compensation.

He noted that while reparations are necessary, no amount can be equivalent to the lives and dignity that were destroyed.

He added that as a people, what we seek is education, improved healthcare and transfer of technology from the western world to build a resilient and prosperous Africa.

The occasion was also grace with the overlord of Gonjaland and President of the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs, His Royal Majesty Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I and others from the seat of government, diaspora. 

The Paramount Chief of Oguaa Traditional Area Osabarimba Dr. Kwesi Atta II emphasized that the stories of the past must remains the identity and courage of our people and continues to grow from generation to generation.

He noted that the sacrifices and resilience of past leadership must inspire this generation to strive for greatness and development.

According to him, it is imperative for the people to celebrate their past and create a lasting legacy for the future generation to honour with pride.
