Medeama Sporting Club have claimed their first-ever Ghana Premier League title after beating Tamale City on Sunday afternoon, at Akoon Park in Tarkwa.
The Tarkwa-based club going into the last game of the season against the relegation side needed to pick just a point to help them secure the title.
But playing at home with a filled Akoon Park, the Mauve and Yellows cruised to a 3-0 victory thanks to a hat-trick from Jonathan Sowah.
Sowah gave the home side the much-needed lead early in the first half to give Medeama the hope of clinching their first-ever Ghana Premier League cup in the club’s history.
He added two more goals in the second half, to complete his hat-trick, securing all three points for Medeama.
