24-hour Market Project: Anxious traders disappointed in Sunyani Municipal Assembly

Market women and traders at the Nana Bosoma Central Market in the Sunyani Municipality have called for their relocation, as the Sunyani Municipal Assembly begins the reconstruction of the facility, under the government's 24-hour market project.

Checks showed that the Assembly had selected and was demolishing market sheds and structures to pave the way for the re-construction of the central market into a befitting standard.

During a visit to the central market on Wednesday, the anxious traders told Sompa FM that they were worried because the assembly authorities had not informed them of any relocation plan.

Wednesdays are major market days at the central market where traders from parts of the country visit to transact businesses.

The traders said it was unfortunate and disappointing that the city authorities had failed to engage them on the exercise and demolishing their properties.
