The 56th annual residential congress of the National Union Of Ghana Students (NUGS) came to a successful end at the Gnat village in Ejisu Abankro in the Ashanti Region
The Congress was attended by over 152 schools across the country with each school represented by 7 accredited delegates
The well-attended congress had speakers touching on various topics to enhance students' foresight in entrepreneurial skills.
On the 3rd day of the congress had delegates go to the polls to elect officers for the 2022/2023 academic calendar.
Hundreds of delegates tripped to the election room to cast their votes irrespective of the few challenges encountered by the students, National security was in attendance to curtail any mayhem
The elections ended around 11 pm on Saturday with Denis Appiah Larbi known to the students as NyaGyedie emerging as the newly elected president of the Union.
Dennis Appiah Larbi before he won the just-ended election contested for the same portfolio with Yiadom Boakye in the 2021/2022 academic calendar elections and succumb to the current president of the Union.
The CEO of Afra Cup and a corporate strategic student of Methodist University College and a former SRC President of the University of Cape Coast takes over the mantle from Yoadom Boakye having accumulated over 800 votes of the total valid votes cast.

International Relations - Oppong Kyekyeku
