A 50 year old Security Officer of the Kumasi metropolitant assembly, Mr Thomas Anokye Yankey has died after a trotro driver pulled a knife on him at Adum PZ in Kumasi over the weekend.

In an interview with Sompa News, the PRO of KMA, Madam Hennritha Afia Konadu said, the trotro driver , 25, inflicted multiple wounds on the city guard without any provocation. She indicated that Mr, Thomas Anokye Yankey popularly called Congo Soldier was rushed to the Emergency unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he was pronuouned dead.

The PRO further claimed that the suspect upon realising the dire condition of the decesed started to inflict knife wounds on himself but eye-witnesses pounds on him and handed him over to police.

The suspect whose identity is still established is currrently under investigations by the Kumasi Central Police Command. more to come..........
