Some New Patriotic Party (NPP) members in the Ejisu Constituency of the Ashanti Region have obtained an injunction at the Kumasi High Court to restrain the party from holding any elections in the constituency.
The two plaintiffs, Isaac Boafo, Research and Elections officer in the Constituency and Edward Budu, polling station executive, are also seeking the court to nullify the recently held polling station elections and allow for fresh polls.
They are claiming that the polling station elections which were conducted at midnight and dawn with breaches of the party's constitution cannot be accepted.
The Research and Elections officer, Mr Isaac Boafo who confirmed the news said he is a party person who believes in the law and knows that the courts are there to settle issues that cannot be settled within the rank and file of the party, however, he has taken legal action against the party so the party will do the needful to break the eight (8) in the 2024 general election.
