A truck pusher identified as Mr. Ofori, believed to be 50-years-old has been found dead inside an uncompleted building at the Mankessim market in the Mfantseman Municipality in the Central Region.

A report by Sompa TV's Eric Annan after engaging some market women who have known the deceased for over 15 years, described him to have relocated from Obuasi to Mankessim to work as a truck pusher to earn a living over financial difficulty.

Meanwhile, further checks unveil the deceased to have recently fallen sick and could no longer work. Hence, left him to depend solely on traders for financial and food support at the market.

Mr. Ofori whose demise occured on Monday, September 1, 2025, around 3pm, was spotted battling for his life at the said building, but unfortunately gave up the ghost since he had no one to attend to him.

Information gathered suggest that the truck pusher had medically been suffering from hernia, which is perceived to have contributed to his death. It was again revealed that the deceased has an history of abusing substances like cigarette and marijuana which is understood to may have aggravated his health condition.

Assembly Member for Mankessim Old Nkusukum, Hon. Emmanuel K. Baiden, who having knew Mr. Ofori for years now, shared grief over the loss, but appealed to individuals, particularly those who have traveled to seek greener pastures in Mankessim to ensure that their relatives know their whereabout incase the unexpected happens.

Emphasizing that this will help in contacting loved ones in situations like that of Mr. Ofori and urged everyone who knows the relative of the deceased to pass the tragic incident to them in other to have them come for the truck pusher's mortal remains for a befitting burial.

The incident has since been reported to the police who upon notification, stormed the scene and transported the deceased's body to the mortuary and have launched investigations into the matter to determine any further details regarding Mr. Ofori's death.
