Some tertiary students in the Sunyani Municipality have welcomed the 50 percent increment of the students’ loan and reduction of charged interest with excitement ad commended the government.
The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) announced the increment pegging between GH¢2,250 to GH¢4,500 in academic year.
Previously tertiary students could only access between GH¢1,500 to GH¢3,000 for an academic year.
Speaking in an interview with Sompa FM in Sunyani, Beatrice Awinpoka a tertiary student said the student loan had sustained her, saying the increment would greatly help students meet their basic needs.
For her, Rosemary Abare, another student, the student loans had provided opportunity for some them to access tertiary education and praised the government for the increment.
