The Bono Regional Police Command says there is no evidence to support a viral video circulating on social media that alleges a robbery incident on the Berekum–Drobo Road on 18 November 2025.
In a press release issued by the Public Affairs Unit of the Bono Police Service, the Command confirmed that it had taken note of the widespread video but explained that preliminary investigations have so far found no record of such an incident.
According to the statement, checks conducted at all police stations within the Bono Region — as well as at stations nationwide — revealed that no robbery case matching the description in the video has been reported.
Verification with the Ghana Armed Forces also confirmed the absence of any such incident.
The Police Command is urging members of the public who may have credible information regarding the alleged robbery to report to the nearest police station to assist with ongoing inquiries.
Meanwhile, the Cyber Crime Unit has begun efforts to identify and invite individuals involved in the publication of the video to aid investigations.
The release warned that anyone found culpable in disseminating false information would face legal consequences.
The statement signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer for the Command cautioned the public against the spread of false news, emphasizing its potential to cause unnecessary fear and panic.
