The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested 33 suspects following a series of intelligence-led anti-crime swoop operations conducted across parts of Kasoa and surrounding communities.
According to a press release issued on December 19, 2025, the operations formed part of efforts “to clamp down on activities of some criminal elements before, during and after the festive season.”
The targeted swoops, carried out in the early hours of December 16 and 17, 2025, covered areas including the Kasoa Old Market, Awutu Breku, Gomoa Buduata, Senya Breku and their environs.
Police disclosed that the operations “led to the arrest of thirty-three (33) suspects,” some of whom were found with “substances suspected to be Indian hemp and some quantities of Tramadol in their possession.”
In addition, the police impounded 45 motorbikes during the exercise and retrieved “one (1) toy gun.”
The statement noted that “verification and documentation checks are ongoing in respect of all the motorbikes while the arrested suspects are being screened as part of investigations.” It added that “those found culpable will be put before court to face justice.”
The Regional Police Command also urged the public to observe security precautions during the festive season.
These include avoiding the carrying of large sums of money, moving in the company of others especially at odd hours, and ensuring that riders comply with the use of crash helmets.
The public was further advised to “avoid drunk-driving, over speeding and observe road traffic regulation,” as well as avoid moving alone in secluded areas.
The Command expressed appreciation to stakeholders and residents within the region, stating that it “acknowledges the cooperation of all in the protection of life and property, maintenance of law and order throughout the year.”
It also commended police officers in the region for their “unwavering commitments in ensuring effective Policing.”
Assuring residents of continued vigilance, the police said the Command “wishes to assure the public of its preparedness in ensuring a crime free festive period,” warning that persons who commit crimes “will be arrested and made to face the full rigours of the law.”
The statement was signed by DSP Victor Kofi Dosoo, Head of the Public Affairs Unit, Central East Region.
