Residents of Nyinahin in the Atwima Mponua joined the District Assembly today for a massive clean-up exercise aimed at promoting environmental sanitation and public health.

The exercise, which forms part of the government’s nationwide sanitation drive, brought together community members, assembly officials and local leaders to desilt gutters, clear choked drains, and remove heaps of refuse from the area.The turnout was impressive, youth opinion leaders assembly members sanitation officers and patriotic residents joined hands.
Addressing residents during the exercise, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon Ibrahim Issahak, urged the public to remain committed to the government’s clean-up initiative and take personal responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean.
He emphasized that sanitation is a shared responsibility and called on residents across the District to actively participate in future exercises to prevent the outbreak of diseases.

Hon Hon Ibrahim Issahak noted that, the assembly has remain consistent in organizing clean-up exercises since the introduction of the initiative by the National Democratic Congress government under President John Dramani Mahama.
