Residents of Seketia, a town in Jaman North, are urgently appealing to the government for assistance in addressing their pressing network connectivity issues. The community is calling on President John Dramani Mahama, Jaman North MP Hon. Ahenkwaa Yaw Fredrick, DCE Hon. Adane George, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to intervene and provide support.
In an interview, residents expressed their frustration, stating that they face significant challenges in making calls, particularly during peak hours, and are unable to access the internet, even with data. They lamented that the network poles previously installed by the previous NDC government are no longer functioning as expected.
The lack of reliable internet connectivity is having a profound impact on the town's development and daily activities. Students are struggling to access online resources, with IT students unable to pursue their studies effectively, and tertiary students facing difficulties completing online assignments, forcing them to travel to nearby towns for internet access.
Despite their efforts to address the issue, residents have been unsuccessful, prompting their appeal for help. They hope that the government and other stakeholders will respond to their plea and provide the necessary support to improve network connectivity in Seketia.
