Residents at Fiapre Kwatwoma Electoral Area in the Sunyani West Municipality have expressed concern about poor drainage system in the area, calling for the intervention of the Municipal Assembly.
According to them the deplorable state of subpar septic tank of a private hostel in the area, “Americaman”, popularly known as “Bola Hostel” was causing nuisance, and expressed the fear about the outbreak of disease as the rains set in.
During a visit, Mr Kwaku Boateng, an opinion leader in the area told Sompa FM that the site for the hostel used to be a sanitation site, worrying that leakages from the septic tank could lead to outbreak of diseases.

Madam Doris Yeboah, another resident said the appalling situation was serving as breeding grounds for mosquitoes, fearing the outbreak of cholera.
She called on the Municipal Assembly and the chiefs in the area to intervene to improve the poor sanitary condition.
