Social commentator Nana Otuo Darko has voiced strong concerns over the plight of Ghanaian returnees from South Africa, describing reports of their experiences as deeply troubling and deserving of urgent national attention.
Speaking during an interview, leader of Ghana First Alliance, Nana Otuo Darko called on the government to strengthen support for affected Ghanaians and prioritize policies that create sustainable opportunities for citizens at home. He stressed that local businesses and entrepreneurs should be given greater consideration in the awarding of contracts to help stimulate economic growth and reduce unemployment.
According to him, empowering Ghanaian-owned enterprises would not only create jobs but also keep more income within the local economy, contributing to national development and improving livelihoods across the country.
He further noted that investing in local talent and industry is essential for building a resilient economy capable of providing opportunities for both returning migrants and residents alike.
He stated that the welfare of Ghanaian returnees and the broader need for job creation, economic empowerment, and inclusive development.
