SSNIT Launch Membership Value Programme to Expand Benefits for Contributors.

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust, in partnership with Ecobank Ghana PLC, has launched the SSNIT Membership Value Programme, aimed at providing contributors and pensioners with benefits beyond their monthly pensions. The initiative introduces a new prepaid membership card designed to improve financial access and offer exclusive rewards. Here is the report.

‎The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), in collaboration with Ecobank Ghana PLC, has officially launched the SSNIT Membership Value Programme (MVP) in Accra.

‎The initiative introduces the SSNIT MVP Prepaid Card, which will provide contributors and pensioners with greater financial convenience, access to discounts, rewards, and other value-added services from partner institutions.

‎Addressing the launch, Deputy Minister for Finance Hon. Thomas Ampem Nyarko described the SSNIT Membership Value Programme as a major step in government's efforts to modernise pension administration and expand financial inclusion. He said the initiative demonstrates the government's commitment to leveraging innovation and strategic partnerships to improve access to financial services for contributors and pensioners.

‎Hon. Ampem Nyarko noted that the programme goes beyond providing retirement income by offering members practical financial solutions and value-added benefits that enhance their daily lives. He expressed confidence that the SSNIT MVP Prepaid Card would promote convenience, encourage digital transactions and strengthen the financial well-being of members across the country.

‎Director-General of SSNIT, Mr. Kwesi Afreh Biney, said the launch of the Membership Value Programme reflects the Trust's commitment to delivering greater value to contributors and pensioners beyond their monthly pensions. He noted that the initiative is aimed at improving members' financial well-being by providing access to practical benefits and value-added services throughout their lives.

‎Mr. Biney explained that the programme forms part of SSNIT's ongoing transformation agenda to enhance customer experience, strengthen public confidence in the pension scheme and build lasting partnerships that benefit members.

‎ He expressed optimism that the initiative would redefine the pension experience by ensuring contributors enjoy meaningful rewards both during their working years and in retirement.

‎Managing Director of Ecobank Ghana, Abena Osei-Poku, said the partnership with SSNIT underscores the bank's commitment to delivering innovative financial solutions tailored to the needs of contributors and pensioners.

‎ She noted that the SSNIT Membership Value Programme is designed to provide members with secure, convenient and accessible financial services that support their everyday lives.

‎She explained that the SSNIT MVP Prepaid Card will not only simplify transactions but also give members access to exclusive discounts, rewards and other value-added services.

‎ According to her, the initiative is expected to ease the financial burden on pensioners and contributors while promoting greater financial inclusion and improving their overall quality of life.
