H.E. Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has shared frustration over votes his government sort to garner in Elmina and the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem Constituency as a whole under his tanure as President of Ghana.
Speaking at the 2024 Edina Bakatue festival on Tuesday, Nana Addo described his government to have dealt so well with Elmina in the sharing of the national cake, talk of infrastructural projects like the Elmina Fishing Harbour and the Elmina Sea Defence.
Yet, the community hasn't replicated that kind gesture into voting for his New Patriotic Party both in the 2016 and 2020 general elections.
He recounted that though its evident the constituency is known to be dominated by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), but that didn't discourage him from going ahead with his intended infrastructural projects for the area.
Thus, appealed to constituents of KEEA to vote massively for the NPP in the upcoming general election, both in the presidential and parliamentary elections.
The President on the 2024 general election, assured to see to it that Ghana once again witness a fair, transparent and violence free polls.
He established that his government will pursuit any individual who will make it a point to disrupt the peace and stability the country has enjoyed over the years in this year's election.
Nana Addo further remarked that he can't afford to hand over power to a successor who sees nothing good under his administration and carries no capability to continue the good works he has initiated, other than Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Paramount chief of the Edina Traditional Area, Nana Kodwo Conduah VI in his address, thanked Nana Akufo-Addo for honouring the invitation to this year's Bakatue festival to emerge the first President of the state to have ever grace the festival.
He then made a tall list of appeal to the President which include dredging of the Benya lagoon, provision of a school bus for the Edinaman Secondary School, assistance to sponsor chiefs in the country during their festivals, and the appeal for the Fisheries Ministry to look into its decision to reverse the abolishment of 'Saiko' activities in the area.
