The immediate past Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North Constituency in the Central Region and a former Deputy Minister of Education, Barbara Asher Ayisi has rebuked the constituency's New Patriotic Party (NPP) members for their reluctance in helping the party retain it's parliamentary seat in the 2020 general election.
According to her, the 2020 election was supposed to have been a done deal for the NPP, considering the unprecedented works the party had done at the constituency, talk of infrastructure, free secondary education implementation, employment for teachers among several others.
Thus, her call for party members of the constituency to bow their heads in shame for not propagating the many facilitated works of the party, only to have it lose its parliamentary seat to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Barbara Asher Ayisi made this statement at a peace health walk, organized by the NPP Cape Coast North parliamentary candidate, Horace Ekow Ewusi on Saturday to energize party members carry the party to victory come December 7.
She established the upcoming 2024 general election to be a battle field the party presently stands in, which require party member's unwavering dedication towards achieving victory for NPP in the 2024 polls.
Horace Ekow Ewusi, the NPP Cape Coast North parliamentary candidate remarked that motivation behind the walk is to keep members of the party fit and to also enjoy the NPP's forthcoming victory in the 2024 general election.
He eulogized various policies of the party's flagbearer and charged constituents of Cape Coast North to vote massively for Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia come December 7, since his parliamentary contest appears a one-horse race having had his contender already give-up for him.
NPP Chairman for Cape Coast North, Mr. Stephen Arhin observed Ekow Ewusi to be on top of the performance rader against all MPs the constituency has ever had, following the works he has already done as parliamentary candidate.
Unlike the constituency's incumbent MP, Hon. Kwamena Minta Nyarku who he said has achieved nothing for the constituency since his election in 2020.
The peace health walk was later climaxed with a feast of variety delicacies, where over 700 individuals who turnout for the walk were made to enjoy.
