Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has expressed hopes that Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang will one day become the country’s first female head of state.
Iddrisu made the comments during Opoku-Agyemang’s visit to the Ministry of Education in Accra on Wednesday (23 September).
“It’s my pride and honour and grace to want to welcome you back to the Ministry of Education, this time in an elevated capacity as the first female Vice President of our Republic,” he said.
“It is my prayer that God will give you long life and good health, so that probably you will be elevated to become the first female President. God bless you,” he added.
Opoku-Agyemang, a former education minister, was appointed vice president after the 2024 general election, becoming the first woman to hold the office in Ghana
