President John Dramani Mahama has inspected the 80-kilometre Jinijini–Sampa Road in the Berekum West District as part of his nationwide “Resetting Ghana Tour.”
The visit underscores his administration’s commitment to ensuring the efficient execution of critical infrastructure projects while maintaining close engagement with citizens.
During the inspection, President Mahama met with traditional authorities, including chiefs, queen mothers, community leaders, and local residents to assess progress on the road project and hear firsthand the impact on communities.

He expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reiterated his government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance.
“Good roads are not just about convenience; they are pathways to growth, commerce, and opportunities for every Ghanaian,” he remarked.
On the economy, the President noted positive signs of stabilisation, citing declining inflation and a strengthening cedi against major currencies.

He highlighted the importance of renewed investor confidence and increasing foreign direct investment as key drivers for sustained economic growth and improved livelihoods.
President Mahama stressed the critical role of quality road networks in boosting trade, enhancing mobility, and promoting regional development.
He assured residents that the Jinijini–Sampa Road, which has faced longstanding challenges, is slated for full asphalt completion by the end of 2027.

He also outlined flagship initiatives under his administration,“Programs like Big Push, Mahama Cares, Nkoko Nkitinkiti, and the 24-hour market initiative are designed to create jobs, empower our traders, and stimulate economic activity from the grassroots up. Development must touch every Ghanaian’s life.”
He referenced a recent sod-cutting ceremony for a 24-hour market in the region as part of efforts to support local traders and expand commerce.

Concluding his remarks, President Mahama urged citizens to participate in the upcoming stakeholder engagement in Sunyani, emphasizing that public feedback is vital to shaping responsive policies and advancing national development.
