Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has arrived in Barcelona, Spain, to participate in the 4th High-Level Meeting of the Initiative “In Defence of Democracy,” where global leaders are expected to deliberate on strengthening democratic governance.
The visit, announced on the official Facebook page of the Jubilee House, underscores Ghana’s continued commitment to democratic principles and its role in contributing to international dialogue on governance and political stability.

She was received on arrival by members of the Ghanaian community in Spain, led by Ghana’s Ambassador to Spain, Kalsoume Sinare Baffoe, who briefed her on preparations and outlined key engagements scheduled for the visit.
“The Vice President’s participation reflects Ghana’s unwavering commitment to promoting democratic values and engaging with the global community on issues of governance,” the Jubilee House noted in a statement.
The high-level meeting will bring together world leaders and policymakers to advance collective efforts aimed at safeguarding democratic values and promoting accountable governance across nations.
Vice President Opoku-Agyemang is expected to actively participate in discussions focused on reinforcing democratic institutions and addressing emerging threats to democracy globally.
