President John Dramani Mahama has urged seven newly accredited non-resident envoys to take advantage of Ghana's 24-Hour Economy initiative and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to expand investment and economic cooperation with the country.

Sighted on Official Facebook page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the President made the call on Monday, June 15, 2026, when he received the Letters of Credence of seven High Commissioners and Ambassadors-designate representing Malta, Russia, Poland, Indonesia, Panama, Armenia and Tanzania.

President Mahama said Ghana remains committed to deepening bilateral relations and creating new opportunities for trade and investment, describing the country as a strategic gateway to the African market.

He encouraged the diplomats to explore partnerships in key sectors, including agriculture and agro-processing, education, energy, technology, infrastructure, tourism, skills development and industrialisation.

"Despite our differences in geography, culture and levels of development, we remain united by our shared aspirations for peace, prosperity and international cooperation," the President said.

The presentation of the Letters of Credence officially accredited the envoys and granted them the authority to represent their respective countries in Ghana.

The envoys are His Excellency Ronald Micallef, High Commissioner of Malta; His Excellency Andrei Ordash, Ambassador of the Russian Federation; His Excellency Michal Cygan, Ambassador of the Republic of

Poland; His Excellency Bambang Suharto, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia; Her Excellency Isbeth Lisbeth Quiel Murcia, Ambassador of the Republic of Panama; His Excellency Armen Sargsyan,

Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia; and His Excellency Selestine Gervas Kakele, High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania.

President Mahama also underscored the importance of multilateral cooperation in addressing global challenges such as climate change, terrorism, food insecurity, irregular migration and economic uncertainty.

He reaffirmed Ghana's commitment to international peace, security and sustainable development, stressing the need for collective action and effective global governance.

The newly accredited envoys expressed appreciation for the warm reception and pledged to work closely with the Government of Ghana to strengthen bilateral relations and advance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The accreditation of the seven envoys is expected to further enhance Ghana's diplomatic and economic engagement with Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa.
