Black Stars coach Otto Addo has urged his players to remain focused and avoid underrating Chad as Ghana prepare for Thursday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in N’Djamena.
Speaking to the press after training, Addo stressed the importance of taking one game at a time, warning that complacency could prove costly.
“Sure, we have to take it as it comes. Anything else doesn’t make sense. We have to do our homework now here in Chad. We have to win this match to keep those who are behind us in their place,” he said.
He cautioned against underestimating the opposition: “The worst thing we can do is to underrate Chad. I hear a lot of people talking as if they’re not that good, and it’s an easy win. But this is the biggest mistake we could do. No, it’s hard work. It’s going to be very, very hard tomorrow.”
Addo added that playing on artificial turf and in front of Chad’s home fans would make the task even tougher, but maintained confidence in Ghana’s ability to deliver if they stay focused.
The match against Chad kicks off at 1:00 pm local time.
