Asante Kotoko crowned champions of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League following a 1-1 draw with Ashanti Gold SC on Thursday.
The Porcupine Warriors came from a goal down to snatch a draw at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi, which ensured their lead at the top of the table is now insurmountable.
Management of Future F.C has sent a heart-warming congratulatory message to their former striker, Okocha and Kumasi Asante Kotoko. A statement released by the director communications, reads as follows.
3RD JUNE 2022
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FUTURE STARS FC CONGRATULATES SAMUEL BOATENG AND ASANTE KOTOKO F.C FOR WINNING THE 2021/2022 GPL
The management of Future Stars F.C wishes to congratulate Asante Kotoko marksman, Samuel Boateng popularly known as Okocha and the entire Asante Kotoko fraternity for winning the 2021/2022 premier league trophy, which is a record 25th title overall.
It is a trite but profound expression that hard work pays. Both the player and the club greatly deserve this latest feat after sailing through such a competitive marathon season unscathed.
The Future Stars family is extremely proud of Samuel Boateng who played a key role as the top scorer in our club's journey from Division Two to Division One last season. To crown that achievement with a premier league winners' medal, all within one year is very phenomenal.
It is the prayer and hope of Future Stars FC that both Samuel Boateng and Asante Kotoko in general will enjoy a very successful CAF champions league campaign to put an icing on the cake.
Long Live Okocha
Long Live Asante Kotoko
Long Live Ghana Football
