A statement from the club said: “Real Madrid CF announces that an institutional act of homage and farewell to our captain Marcelo will take place at Real Madrid City, with the presence of our president Florentino Perez.
“Following this act, Marcelo will appear before the media in the press room at Real Madrid City.” And has shared an emotional thank you on his Facebook page
Marcelo: "I want to thank the club, my teammates, the coaches, the kit men, who are like family, the people who have the 'dirty' job because we only dedicate ourselves to playing football, and without them, it's not possible."
