Alexander Djiku's move to Sevilla FC has been put on ice, Sompa Sports can reveal.
The Ghana defender is currently on the books of RC Strasbourg Alsace and has a year remaining on his contract.
The player is the subject of interest from several European clubs with the front-runners being Sevilla and Rennes.
Initial reports revealed Djiku was on the brink of joining Sevilla, however Sompa Sports' source reports that the move looks to be off due to variances in the valuation of the player.
The offer from the Spanish outfit is deemed insufficient by Djiku's camp and needs to be improved.
At present, French outfit Rennes are ahead in the race for the player's signature, the source confirmed.
Alex Djiku had an excellent season for club and country. He was integral as Strasbourg placed 6th on the Ligue 1 table, narrowly missing out on European qualification.
He also played full throttle as he helped Ghana book a slot at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
At age 27, he is set for a very crucial stage in his career where the next move will be vital in enhancing his footballing profile and status.
