Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has expressed confidence in his team's preparation for Saturday's World Cup Round of 32 clash against Colombia, insisting the players are ready for the challenge.
Speaking ahead of the knockout tie at Arrowhead Stadium, Ayew acknowledged the difficulty of the opposition but backed the game plan put in place by coach Carlos Queiroz.
"Colombia are a top side, and it's going to be a difficult game, but I'm confident about the tactics the manager has told us," Ayew said. "I think we will be ready for the challenge, so there is no problem about that."
The match marks Ghana's first appearance in a World Cup knockout stage since their quarter-final exit to Uruguay in 2010. It will also be the first competitive meeting between the two nations at any level.
Ghana advanced from Group L as one of the best third-placed teams after a 1-0 win over Panama, a goalless draw with England, and a narrow 2-1 defeat to Croatia.
Colombia, meanwhile, topped Group K unbeaten with seven points, winning two games and drawing with Portugal.
Ayew has previously stressed the importance of focus in the knockout stages, telling his teammates there is "no second chance".
The winner of Saturday's clash will face either Switzerland or Algeria in the Round of 16.
Kick-off is scheduled for 01:30 GMT on Saturday, July 4.
