Mr Sylvester Asante, the Chairman of the Dormaa the Egg Exporters Association in the Bono Region has urged the government’s intervention to enable them to export eggs to neighbouring Burkina Faso.
He said the association had been trading with Burkina Faso for years, worrying that since officials in Burkina Faso destroyed thousands of crates exported to that country in February this year, most of the traders feared doing business with the Burkinabe counterpart.
Speaking to Ama Konadu on the Sunyani-based Sompa FM “Adea Akye Abia” morning show, Mr Asante said their businesses were collapsing and thereby affecting the poultry industry, urging the government’s intervention.
Mr Asante said what the association required from the government was to engage the Burkinabe government for the trade agreement between both countries to continue for mutual benefit.
