Mr Joseph Addae Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister has admitted that tackline the growing youth unemployment situation in the region and the country by extension remains a daunting challenge for the government.
Nonetheless, he said the President John Dramani Mahama’s administration was poised to address the problem by creating job opportunities for the youth through employable skills training.
The Regional Minister said this when speaking on the Sompa FM’s “Bus Mo Nkomo” drive show hosted by ABY, saying the government through the National Youth Authority and Youth Employment Agency (YEA) had rolled out various employable skills training modules to fetch the youth decent jobs.
Besides, he said many young people already been recruited into the police, fire service and other security services.
Mr Akwaboa therefore urged the youth to develop the interest and leverage on those employable skills training opportunities and learn hairdressing, dressmaking, body make up, among others to get themselves jobs and enhance on their socio-economic livelihoods.
