Scout UDS players for Black Stars – Asutifi North MP

A member of Parliament’s Youth and Sports Committee and MP for Asutifi North, Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, has urged the Ministry of Sports and Recreation to scout the University for Development Studies (UDS) football team for players who could be considered for the national team, the Black Stars.

The call follows the UDS team’s successful defence of its continental university football title after defeating Julius Nyerere University 2-1 in the final of the 12th All Africa University Games.Speaking at a sitting of Parliament’s Youth and Sports Committee, the Asutifi North MP commended the team for showcasing Ghanaian football talent on the continental stage.

“In fact I have followed them since 2024 and just yesterday, the won the 12th All Africa University Games in Cairo. Last year in September, they won FISU World Tournament in China, beating Brazil.

“I think we should encourage them and if there are players there, they should also scout them and recommend them for national assignment,” he said
