The identity of the police officer who murdered beautiful Maadwoa in cold blood at Adum has been revealed.
Reliable sources revealed to Ghana Fapem’s show host, Yaw Boamah that the perpetrator is a police officer who is stationed at Kumasi Central Police Station and Twumasi is him name. Popularly, he is known as Police Tycoon due to his looks and appearance, whereas others call him Mr. Darko. He was in the SWAT unit. But over the years, he has levelled up his rank to Chief inspector.
It is established that Twumasi is married with kids and his victim, Maadwoa was his “side chic.”
An exclusive video has surfaced where the accused, Twumasi or Police Tycoon was having a phone call conversation between himself and a lady. He was heard telling the lady that he truly loved Maadwoa. But she was stubborn and deserved to die.
“A woman that I love, why would you be unreasonably unyielding and stubborn with me? Did I do you any harm?
The lady on the other side of the call sounded scared and worried. She probed further but Tycoon admitted that he killed her and warned her against revealing their communication to anyone. Then, he ended the dialogue with suicide notes.
“Keep quiet about everything. You haven’t heard anything. If I also kill myself, then I’m gone.”
Eye witnesses confirmed that after he shot Maadwoa five times, he ordered a Pragya driver at gun point to drive him from the scene. His whereabouts is still not known but the police have launched investigation and a manhunt for his arrest.
Maadwoa Akoto left behind a child who will turn 4 years in June. According to the bereaving family, the deceased’s baby daddy is in abroad where she was set to travel outside the country next week.

Executive Secretary for Advocacy for Medical Malpractice Victims, Lawyer Kwame Brobbey Appiah says it is logical to sue medical practitioners for medical malpractices and negligence.
In an interview on Sompa FM’s Adea Akye Abia, Lawyer Appiah encouraged victims of medical malpractice to seek legal justice. He noted that, gone are the days when victims of medical negligence were ignorant about laws regarding the canker. However, widespread publicity has enlightened people to take legal action about the situation.
Commenting on the Health Minister’s claim that the rate of lawsuits against medical practitioners are alarming, Lawyer Appiah clarified that the implications of medical malpractices have brought untold hardships to many Ghanaian families. Hence it is laudable to seek justice.
“Medical malpractice affects patients for the rest of their lives. Some become permanently paralyzed, lose vital parts of their bodies. Whiles others die as a result of it. Taking a legal action against the medical officer in charge or the facility is just like taking any other legal action to seek justice for a wrongdoing.”- he said.
He shared the processes with which the Advocacy for Medical Malpractice Victims (AMMV) gets justice for its victims. “We listen to the complaints of alleged victims, and subject them to interrogation in order to establish enough grounds to prosecute.” Lawyer Brobbey explained.
Former Member of Parliament for Manso Nkwanta, Mr. Joseph Albert Quarm, has strongly dismissed claims by former Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng and called him a blatant liar.
In a bombshell report by the former Minister, Prof Frimpong-Boateng, Mr. Quarm is accused of engaging in illegal mining popularly known as galamsey and using his position as a member of the Minerals Commission to acquire several dozens of large-scale concessions in his district, ostensibly for community mining purposes.
The signed 37-page report also indicted some NPP bigwigs at the Jubilee House claiming they were actively involved in galamsey and hiring the services of some Chinese nationals to engage in the illegal activity on their behalf.
The report stressed that Prof Quarm “ended up selling these concessions to private individuals, including party members for two hundred thousand Cedis per concession. This infuriated the party in the constituency so during the 2020 primaries to select a candidate the electorate voted against Mr. Quarm, the sitting MP, who was more resourced than other candidates. Although there were allegations that he “camped” delegates and attempted to bribe them, he lost to a lesser-known individual who did not have any financial muscle.”
Addressing the issue on Sompa FM’s Ade Akye Abia, Mr. Quarm described the claims in the report as lies and an attempt to tarnish his image.
“I don’t even own a pin of a concession, let alone several…I am a public figure. I have served my constituency and the nation. Anytime someone calls me to tell my side of the story I will come.” he said.
Prof Quarm called on Professor Frimpong-Boateng to immediately apologize and retract the claims in the report or he’ll be compelled to take the issue to court.
“The statement put out by Dr. Kwabena Frimpong Boateng is wrong. It is untrue and baseless. He must retract. But if he doesn’t, I will advise myself” Prof Quarm concluded.

Management of Ghana Water Company Limited, GWCL has lamented that their greatest hurdle with regards to the national revenue mobilization exercise is the attitude of domestic customers.
Speaking on Sompa FM’s Adea Akye Abia, Managing Director of Ghana Water Company Limited, Mr. Clifford Braimah, mentioned that since they commenced the revenue mobilization exercise, people are paying their arrears especially the big industries. However, domestic consumers are failing to do the needful, making it difficult for Ghana water to operate.
“Ghanaians are owing a little over GHc800 million. Our major defaulters are domestic customers. Yet that is where our challenge is. Whilst the industries are paying 30ghc per cubic meter, domestic customers are paying 7.3ghc per cubic meter.”
Mr. Braimah divulged that since the domestic customers are refusing to pay, Ghana water might concentrate more on providing water for the businesses and industries in order to generate revenue.
“I will tend to deny the domestic customers and push the water to the industries. I need to operate. I need to buy chemicals. More than 80percent of the ghc800million is with the domestic people yet they complain of water shortage the most.” He said.
The MD stressed that Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has begun this national revenue mobilization exercise to recover all arrears owed by consumers. Hence, they require the massive cooperation from all and sundry to make the operation successful.
He added that there would be a disconnection team and a task force deployed in all the regions and district offices, who will “disconnect all categories of customers whose bills are in arrears” owed by consumers.
