The Belim Wusa Development Agency (BEWDA) in partnership with WaterAid Ghana, Non-governmental organisations trained 30 selected young journalists on climate change reporting.
With funding from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), the training aligned with the implementation of the Civil Society Leadership Mobilizing for better WASH (CLIMB) project.
Mr Richard Ntibrey, the Programme Manager in-charge of WASH and Climate Change of WaterAid Ghana highlighted the concept of the training in an interview with the media on the sidelines of the closing session of the training at Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region,
Mr Ntibrey explained that the implementation of the project focused on advocacy to reach out to the masses and to improve on WASH.
He said climate change impact had direct consequences of accessing clean water, decent toilets and hygiene.
Mr Ntibrey called on the journalists to lead climate change mitigation campaign in their respective communities.
